Estimate how long a home charge will take based on your vehicle's battery, current charge, and charger type.
Estimated charging time
7h 35m
Level 2 — 240V, 32A charger · charging from 20% to 90%
This estimate assumes roughly 90% charging efficiency and a consistent charge rate — actual times vary by vehicle, temperature, and charging curve (most EVs slow down as they approach 100%).
The jump from a standard 120V outlet (Level 1) to a 240V Level 2 charger is the single biggest factor in home charging speed — often the difference between an overnight charge and a multi-day one. Within Level 2 chargers, amperage (24A, 32A, 40A, 48A) further affects speed, though your vehicle's onboard charger also has to support the higher rate to actually benefit from it.
If your current setup feels too slow, a dedicated Level 2 charger installed on a properly sized circuit is almost always the answer — see our EV charger installation service for details.
